Some Mamluks were able to escape by climbing the fortress walls and riding their horses and fleeing to the Egyptian border.

This mosque is located inside the citadel of Salah al-Din Ayyubi. The mosque of Muhammad Ali is considered one of the most important monuments of the citadel, it is believed that the citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi is the fortress of Muhammad Ali Pasha because of the greatness and beauty of this mosque.
